What’s changed
Every update to Ramen to Runway, newest first. The app updates itself the next time you open it, so there’s nothing to download.
Version 1.7.5
October 15, 2026
- Age checks now cover existing backups, reminders, and test groups. Connected features pause until the answer and any required permission are reviewed.
- A saved age answer is reviewed before it takes effect. Settings explains the saved answer and how to request a correction without clearing money records.
- Online deletion shows its real status and retries after a failed connection. Test-group invitations no longer cover the age question, and restricted feedback drafts stay available to copy.
Version 1.7.4
October 15, 2026
- A bank file’s “transfer to” line only counts as savings when it names savings, so paying a friend or a landlord no longer adds to your savings in Net worth.
- Gig income with no paychecks recorded gets a full tax estimate again, without asking for wages first.
- If your browser fills in a hidden box on Contact us, tapping Send again now goes through.
Version 1.7.3
October 14, 2026
- Before cloud backup, reminders, Contact us, or a test group, the app asks your birth month and year once. The answer stays on your device; under 13, those stay off and everything else works.
- Challenge invites keep a friend’s first name out of the web address the server sees.
- Clearer privacy and terms: who runs the app, Do Not Track, accessibility, and Missouri law. Crypto prices now say they’re powered by CoinGecko.
Version 1.7.2
October 14, 2026
- Setup keeps bills due today and asks whether they are paid. Monthly bills keep their chosen day through shorter months.
- Savings transfers preserve net worth. Check savings and other cash separately in Net worth; goals allocate that money without counting it twice.
- Safe to spend consistently reserves bank payments, including scheduled card repayments. Usual and recent purchases keep their payment account.
- Unpaid pay-in-4 installments stay outstanding. Updating a card balance keeps your recorded payment history.
- Take-home deposits no longer fill pre-tax wages. Missouri individual capital gains are excluded from state tax starting in 2025.
- Contact us now delivers quickly submitted drafts and keeps rejected drafts for retry.
Version 1.7.1
October 14, 2026
- School has three tabs, like Money: School & deals, Dates & aid, and Semester money, so it’s no longer one long page.
- Work-study: already filing paychecks under Job? Add the job’s name and they count toward your award too.
- A smaller, faster app: animations now use what’s built into your browser, and fine print doesn’t stretch across wide screens.
Version 1.7
October 13, 2026
- Pay in 4: add a Klarna, Afterpay, or Affirm plan, and each payment counts in Safe to spend and on the calendar.
- School: see whether your dining dollars and swipes last until the term ends, and how much of a work-study award is left in hours.
- Money tight? A link under Safe to spend shows where students find help: emergency aid, food help, and what to ask your school.
- Add your bills and school dates to your own calendar, ask a friend for what they owe in one tap, and compare loan payments after graduation, including the new income-based plan.
- Your semester so far, on one card you can share. On a computer, press / to search and N to add spending.
Version 1.6.1
October 13, 2026
- With the app open in two tabs or windows, each one now picks up what the other saves, so nothing you add in one is lost from the other.
- Left open overnight on a laptop, Today now moves to the new date when you come back to it.
- Scrolling over a number box no longer changes the number in it.
- Goal photos now save in Safari, and sharing a card works in older versions of Safari.
Version 1.6
October 13, 2026
- 37 lessons now, with “Right now” on the Learn tab putting the ones for this time of year first: FAFSA in the fall, taxes in winter, jobs in summer.
- Every lesson links to the official page it was checked against, like irs.gov or studentaid.gov.
- The weekly check-in suggests this week’s lesson.
- Five new lessons on gold, silver, and other precious metals: premiums, selling and storing, metal funds, taxes, and scams, from the CFTC and the IRS.
Version 1.5
October 7, 2026
- Your week in 2 minutes: from Sunday, see what came in, what went out, what’s coming up, and one thing to do.
- Streak savers: a missed day no longer resets your streak. You start with one, and each weekly check-in earns another, up to two.
Version 1.4
October 7, 2026
- Join a test group from an invite link or Settings → Test group. It sends one anonymous count a day, and you can leave anytime.
- Something confusing? Every tab now ends with a way to tell us, and the message says which screen you were on.
Version 1.3
October 5, 2026
- Log a usual purchase from Today in one tap, with Undo. Pin the ones you want, hide the ones you don’t.
- Import a Quicken file (QFX or OFX) from your bank, or a CSV separated by semicolons or tabs.
- Something you typed and then imported counts once: the bank line is matched to it, and its store remembers your category.
Version 1.2
October 5, 2026
- Security and trust: one page on how your data is protected, how the app is paid for, what happens if it ever shuts down, and how to report a security problem.
- A public list of every change, so you can see the app is looked after.
- Stricter browser protections on every page and every answer from the server.
Version 1.1
October 2, 2026
- Credit cards: your first card, a second, and later, with 37 cards compared. Every link goes to the bank’s own page.
- On iPhone, your data moves into the Home Screen app instead of it starting empty.
- Export your money to a spreadsheet, and a plain promise on Today: the app never holds or moves your money.
- Cloud backup shows when an unused backup would be deleted, and limits keep anyone from flooding backups, reminders, or Contact us.
- Reminders sign up again by themselves after a long break.
Version 1.0
September 30, 2026
- Safe to spend on Today, with Next up: what’s due, school dates, and goals that are nearly done.
- Money in and out, bills and subscriptions, budgets, cards, loans, and splits with friends.
- School: student deals, FAFSA and school dates, semester money, and the education tax credit.
- Investing with profit after fees, tax estimates, and the Practice lab with pretend money.
- Goals, habits, challenges with friends, badges, and short money lessons.
- Search, All tools, reminders, app lock, backups, and optional encrypted cloud backup.
In the app, the same list is in Settings › What’s new.
